Food and beverage

Thanks to established relationships with leading global manufacturers of general industrial equipment we are actively developing and expanding our production and sales activities.

What we offer

Equipment, measuring technology and components for food and beverage production

Breweries, distilleries, dairies, frozen food plants and beverage bottling. Two gas hazards define this sector, and both of them are routinely underestimated: ammonia in the refrigeration plant and carbon dioxide wherever something ferments.

Processes

What happens in this sector

Refrigeration and freezing

Ammonia refrigeration plant rooms, compressor halls, freezer stores and cold rooms. The machinery room is the classic fixed detection case and usually the one an inspector asks about first.

Fermentation, carbonation and cellar work

Fermentation tanks, cellars, carbonation and filling of carbonated drinks. Carbon dioxide is heavier than air, colourless and odourless, and it collects at floor level in exactly the rooms people walk into alone.

Filling, washing and packaging

Bottling machinery, bottle, jar and crate washing machines, glass working machines, separators, dispensers and taps, filtration, cooling, drying and heating systems, control, conveying and packaging.

Hazards

Which gases, and where they occur

AmmoniaRefrigeration machinery rooms, compressor halls, valve stations and pipe runs.
Carbon dioxideFermentation cellars, tank farms, carbonation, filling halls and below-ground rooms where it accumulates.
Oxygen deficiencyTanks and vessels during cleaning, nitrogen-inerted equipment and silos.
Cleaning and disinfection chemicalsCIP and SIP stations, chlorine and peracetic acid handling.

Matching equipment

Which instruments fit

Honeywell BW™ Clip

Maintenance-free single-gas instruments for cellar staff and contractors where an administration routine does not exist.

FAQ

Questions about Food and beverage

Why is carbon dioxide detection in a cellar more than a formality?

Because it is colourless, odourless, heavier than air and produced continuously by fermentation. It collects at floor level in rooms that people enter alone and briefly, which is the exact profile of an accident that gets discovered late. Detection belongs at the level where the gas accumulates, not at head height.

What does an ammonia refrigeration machinery room need?

Fixed detection with alarm thresholds matched to the plant, a link to the ventilation and to the warning devices, and a calibration routine that is documented. The exact thresholds and interlocks follow the plant design and the operator's own assessment; we build the detection concept to match and hand over the documentation an inspection expects.

Do you supply parts for filling lines that are no longer built?

Yes. That includes stainless steel swivel joints for filling equipment from our own production, manufactured to drawing where a standard part no longer exists.
