Honeywell Flex 5 Series
The Flex 5 Series is Honeywell's modular portable platform: one base unit that works as a pumped instrument for confined space sampling and as a wearable for personal protection, with swappable cartridges instead of separate devices.

Purpose and use
Honeywell designs the Flex 5 for fleets that have to cover several tasks with the same equipment. The device takes 4-way or 6-way diffusion cartridges or a 6-way cartridge with built-in pump, and the cartridges are field-replaceable — a configuration change no longer means a different instrument.
Connectivity is optional rather than permanent. Readings can be relayed at the moment of an alarm, or transferred when the instrument is docked, and the device works with Honeywell Safety Suite 2.0 for fleet management or with PC Lite for local set-up. NFC actionTAGS automate bump testing, calibration, accessory checks and permit-to-work steps, with the tag data encrypted to AES-128 or higher.
The Flex 5 was brought to market in 2026 as the successor to the Flex 4. Availability, part numbers and sensor ranges vary by region — we confirm them with Honeywell before quoting.

- Highly modular multi-gas portable monitor for explosive, oxygen and toxic gas hazards, for indoor, outdoor and potentially explosive atmospheres
- Up to 6 sensors, of which 3 high power: up to 4 × 1 Series and 2 × 4 Series, selected from over 20 sensor types
- Three fundamental configurations: 4-way and 6-way cartridge (diffusion) and 6-way cartridge with built-in pump

- Ingress protection: independently tested IP66 and IP68 (diffusion), IP65 (pumped)
- Alarms: visual, vibrating and audible at 95 dB at 30 cm; 3 × instantaneous, TWA, STEL, negative drift, over limit, battery and system integrity
- Size and weight, standard battery: 4-way diffusion 136.5 × 72.2 × 32.8 mm and 273 g; 6-way diffusion 158 × 72.2 × 32.8 mm and 299 g; 6-way pumped 163 × 72.2 × 54.3 mm and 363 g
- Run time: minimum one 8-hour shift plus 50 % (12 hours) in any configuration; as new up to 12 days continuous in diffusion, up to 25 days with the extended battery
- Connectivity: USB-C, Bluetooth 5.X and NFC at 13.56 MHz, with NTAG424 DNA and DESFire EV2(3) support
- Software: Device Configurator mobile app (iOS, Android), PC Lite (Windows 11) for local set-up, Safety Suite 2.0 for centralised fleet management
- Logging: event log, configurable data log at 15 to 120 s, configuration log with change history, calibration history of the last 10 calibrations, advanced diagnostics
- NFC actionTAGS for user, accessory, bump, calibration and location workflows, AES-128 bit encrypted or higher

Does the Flex 5 replace our Flex 4 instruments?
The Flex 5 Series came to market in 2026 as the successor to the Flex 4. Whether a replacement makes sense for you depends on the remaining service life of your fleet and on whether the modular cartridges save you a second instrument type. We look at both before recommending anything.
Can one device be used both pumped and as a wearable?
Yes, that is the point of the platform: the same base unit takes a diffusion cartridge for wearable use and a 6-way cartridge with built-in pump for sampling. The cartridges are field-replaceable by users with appropriate training.
Is the Flex 5 already available in Germany?
Honeywell notes in the datasheet that approvals are pending in parts of the world and that availability should be confirmed by geography. We check the current position with Honeywell for each enquiry rather than promising a delivery date we cannot hold.
