High tech and specialty gases

SPM Flex

The SPM Flex is a tape-based gas detection system for low-level toxic gas monitoring, engineered to detect gas at parts-per-billion level with an intuitive design suitable for clean rooms yet rugged enough for extreme outdoor environments.

What it is

Purpose and use

Honeywell specifies Chemcassette® technology to detect ultrasensitive toxic gases such as hydrides, mineral acids, oxidisers and amines, and names the typical use cases: emergencies, leak investigations and routine tool maintenance. The instrument is available in portable and fixed configurations.

In practice the SPM Flex is the instrument that answers the question a fixed multi-point system cannot: not "is there gas somewhere in this area" but "is this specific fitting leaking right now". During a tool changeover, a commissioning run or after an alarm from the fixed system, it is what a technician takes to the suspected point.

What we deliver around this product

We configure the instrument for your gas groups, supply the tape stream, and train the technicians who will use it — a ppb instrument used without an understood sampling procedure produces numbers that nobody can act on.

FAQ

Questions about SPM Flex

Why a portable ppb instrument if we already have a fixed system?

Because the fixed system tells you that a point in the area has exceeded a threshold, not which fitting is leaking. Finding the source is a manual task, and it needs an instrument with the same sensitivity as the fixed system.
