The OmniPoint™ transmitter is a gas detection solution for hazardous locations that supports up to three sensors on one transmitter, covering toxic gases, oxygen and flammable gas hazards from a single installation point.
What it is
Purpose and use
Three sensors on one transmitter changes the installation arithmetic. Where a measuring point has to cover more than one hazard, the alternative is three separate transmitters with three cable runs, three cable glands and three entries in the maintenance plan. Honeywell describes the device as scalable and flexible for exactly that reason.
The transmitter uses a range of sensor technologies to address different detection needs, and offers a full-colour touch-key interface with Bluetooth®-enabled operation for setup and maintenance — which in a hazardous area means configuration without opening the enclosure.

Questions about OmniPoint™ Transmitter
Is one transmitter with three sensors better than three transmitters?
It is cheaper to install and to maintain when the hazards genuinely occur at the same point. It is worse when the three hazards would be best measured at different heights or positions, because the mounting position is a compromise. We decide that per measuring point.
Why does Bluetooth configuration matter in a hazardous area?
Because opening a certified enclosure in a classified area requires a procedure, and often a hot work or gas clearance permit. Configuration and maintenance access without opening the housing removes that step from the routine.
